Luke Best is first and foremost and illustrator, but that doesn’t stop him from pursuing a diverse range of outlets, from video, animation, publishing books and designing t-shirts to making home-made spacesuits. His style has a nostalgic, child-like feel to it. He uses cut and stick combined with crayon and felt tip drawings, to create a viable and adult result, but with an air of the excitement and confusion of youth. Juxtaposing characters and concepts in such a way, as to push the viewer into the realm of the imagination.
Luke graduated from the RCA and has since been exploring his different mediums with the support of a number different groups and agencies. He works as part of a video directing partnership known as Rosco & Best. Whilst for his illustration, he is represented in London and New York by Heart Agency, and is also a member of the illustration collective Peepshow. It must be working because his client list includes the likes of MTV, Nike, The BBC, The Guardian, Nylon magazine & Diesel Jeans.
